I’ve been a Yankees fan for as long as I can remember.
It’s not just the championships, or the marquee stars. What always kept me watching were the homegrown Yankees like Don Mattingly, Bernie Williams, Gerald Williams, Mariano Rivera, Derek Jeter, Jorge Posada, Robinson Cano, Phil Hughes, Aaron Judge — the kids who came up through the system, wore the pinstripes and tried to prove they belonged and either became legends… or passed through as to become the answer to some Yankees trivia.
From the Mattingly era, to the Core Four era to the Baby Bombers — to the next waves of hope like Anthony Volpe, Austin Wells, Will Warren, Jasson Dominguez, Cam Schlitter and Carlos Lagrange, I’ve seen prospects rise, stall, get traded, break out, and sometimes disappear. And through it all, one thing never changed: The homegrown Yankees were the ones I rooted the hardest for!
There’s something different about watching a kid signed at 16, grind at Dominican Academies working to get off the island and to Tampa, or a kid drafted at 21 grind through Tampa, Hudson Valley, Somerset and Scranton, then finally step onto the Yankee Stadium field. You feel invested. You remember the scouting reports. The first slump, the first breakout stretch. The hype. The doubts. The debates. That journey mattered. The ups, the downs..were all part of the process.
This site exists because I believe the farm system tells the real story of the franchise. Not just who the Yankees are today — but who they will be next year, and five years from now. Here, we prospect huggers break down: prospect rankings, player development trends, MiLB performance updates, draft classes and international signings, an honest take of who’s actually trending up or down, which prospects are shining or fading. I don’t do hype for clicks, no BS. No blind negativity either, as this journey for many of these kids is hard enough. Just real analysis from someone who watches, tracks, and genuinely cares about these players.
