The Yankees have added another arm to the 2026 IFA Class, signing 17-year-old right-handed pitcher Dalvin Taveras out of the Dominican Republic.
Taveras brings a live fastball that sits 94 MPH with a developing slider and changeup. At 5'11" and 195 pounds, he's got a sturdy, athletic frame with room to fill out and adding a few more ticks to the fastball.
The Dominican prospect will make his professional debut in the DSL this summer, joining the wave of young hopefuls the organization continues to stock for the 2026 Class.
This represents another addition for Mario Garza, who has been working to rebuild the 2026 IFA Class following the Donny Rowland fall out.
As of this month, the Yankees still have around $4.7 million that must be utilized by the mid-December deadline, or they risk forfeiting the bonus pool funds. Alternatively, they could trade some of the bonus pool money to gain something in return.
